Back in 2010 we decided to take a different approach to defined benefit pensions administration. We looked at competitor systems and found that they didn’t do what we needed, largely as they were originally conceived decades ago. We also wanted one system to do administration, payroll and accounts.
Our solution
An administration platform where benefits could be coded by administrators not rocket scientists. No special programming language and no “black box” calculations. Automate all benefits, not just the vanilla ones. Most systems can automate a good chunk of calculations but not all.
The results
By designing a different approach to coding we haven’t found one that we can’t do. Automation leads to real time benefits and member self serve via our phone and web apps. The result is Mantle, a truly unified platform ready to meet the needs of today’s schemes.
Pensions Dashboard ready
Digitised member records, ability to return an Estimated Retirement Income and APIs capable of handling real time requests.
Many systems struggle with benefits that don’t fit their pre-determined parameters. Mantle has no limits on the number or type of calculations. We can code anything.
The Mantle dashboard displays a real-time view of the scheme. Access can be configured to common and conditional data for trustees, HR and scheme advisers.
We integrate with Altus Pension Payment Gateway, a market leading system that allows us to deliver calculations and deductions, coordinate multiple payment schedules and report to HMRC.
We can quickly and easily create and customise standard documents. We barcode paper communications so they can be scanned and automatically tagged to the correct member.
Mantle has integrated cash management and accounting capability, meaning an accurate balance sheet position is fully automated and linked to actual liabilities, a full audit trail is maintained and auditors can interrogate the history.
Members can engage with their benefits using our web app and our new smartphone app, My Pocket Pension. Both apps allow members to view pension and cash lump sum over a range of ages, real time transfer value, keep contact details up to date and even retire online.
